The £150,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Cup was won today by the Roger Varian-trained Dominant for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing by an impressive five lengths.

Roger Varian, commented: “I knew he was a very nice horse when he was an unlucky second at Sandown Park and he then found the ground too quick at Newbury. I think the key to this horse is some cut in the ground. I am particularly thrilled for Harry Herbert and the Highclere Thoroughbred Racing team.”

Dominant sat under Neil Callan in mid division before committing for home about two furlongs out and the race was soon over with Malthouse finishing second and favourite, Questioning, back in third place but neither could get anywhere close to the scintillating black colt.

Dominant was purchased at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 95,000 guineas by bloodstock agent John Warren from the consignment from Rathasker Stud.
